Celebrate New Citizens • free

Anne Arundel County honors new U.S. citizens who took the citizenship class with the county’s Center of Help that helps non-English speaking people assimilate into the U.S. 6-8pm at Arundel Center, 44 Calvert St., Annapolis: 410-295-3434; 

Annapolis in Plein Air • free

Thirty plein air painters work quickly to capture the beauty of our capital at the 12th annual Paint Annapolis outdoor painting competition. Each painter selects locations throughout the capital and submits two paintings for the juried competition. Stroll the city to see the artists at work and learn more about the plein air technique. Saturday, see how quickly paint can meet canvas at a Dueling Brushes competition, open to juried and non-juried artists (9am-noon).

Rockin’ Beach Music

County Open House • free

Learn what services Anne Arundel County offers and  meet the county’s administration and department heads at the Summer Community Connections Day and Open House. Pet Adoption
