AUDITIONS: The 24 Hour Theatre Project

Event Date:  August 23, 2013 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm Colonial Players is putting on a show, start to finish, in 24 hours! We invite you to be a part of the madness, and audition for the fun! All interested parties (18 and over) should report to auditions at the Colonial Players Annex at 6pm on Friday, August 23. The show will not be revealed prior to auditions. Auditions will consist of cold readings from random shows to see how actors create strong characterizations. At 8pm, the show will be cast, and the chaos will begin! If you are not cast in the show, we invite you to stay and join the production team to help with the project.

Sunset Paddle on the Patuxent

Event Date:  August 23, 2013 - 6:30pm - 9:00pm Join Patuxent Riverkeeper for another sunset paddle on the Patuxent. Come explore the tidal wetlands and view wildlife (during the first paddle we watched an immature eagle and several young osprey work on their flying skills) as the sun sets over the marshlands. Learn about local history, wildlife and archeology at this bonafide War of 1812 destination. Afterwards, join us for light snacks and refreshments. Launch fee is $5 if you are not a PrK member and use your own boat (free to members!). $10 to use one of our boats. Limited space, RSVP required. The 24-Hour Theatre Project

Event Date:  August 24, 2013 - 8:00pm - 10:00pm From Friday, August 23, 2013 to Saturday, August 24, 2013, Colonial Players will produce the 2nd “24 Hour Theatre Project”. This challenging project will audition, cast, rehearse, and design a theatrical production in the time frame of just 24 hours. Join the cast and crew at 8pm on Saturday, August 24 for the final, full-length, fully-staged, mostly memorized performance! The event is free and open to the public, but pay-what-you-can donations will be graciously accepted.
