Brush Work

Watercolor club has full calendar
It’s been a busy season for the Annapolis Watercolor Club. The work of the club members have been on display across the county, with shows just wrapping up at Annapolis City Hall and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. Up next is a gallery setting near and dear to the members’ hearts.
For the 17th year, the Annapolis Watercolor Club exhibits a judged watercolor show at Historic Linthicum Walks for the first two weekends in October. During the show you can catch members painting en plein air on the grounds of this 200-year-old home in Crofton. Now owned by the county, it was the homestead of the Linthicum family, who farmed the surrounding land for tobacco. Its picturesque landscape makes it a beacon to area artists.
The watercolor club’s work goes postal this holiday season when one of the artists will be chosen for the Chesapeake Conservancy’s annual Christmas card.
See the Linthicum Walks exhibit Fridays 10am-5pm and Saturdays 11am-5pm, with an artists’ reception Oct. 14, 2-4pm, Historic Linthicum Walks, 2295 Davidsonville Rd., Gambrills:
