Breaking the Plastics Habit

Re: The Last Straw: Those innocent-looking sippers are one of the Top 5 plastic ocean pollutants; April 19, 2018; www.bayweekly.com/node/42864

Thank you for providing an entertaining and educational local newspaper.     Your May 17 article on plastic straws adding to the pollution of our waterways was spot-on!

Ever since I watched Michael Moore’s documentary Bag It, I have tried to limit my personal use of plastic. I only use kitchen containers instead of zippered bags. I choose to use foil and waxed paper instead of plastic wrap. I refuse plastic bags at sandwich shops and grocery stores.

I never gift with plastic cards because no one re-loads them. They are used once then disposed of. (Which also forces the receiver to spend money and have no choice to save money).

Please share these ideas, and keep up the great work.
