New Year’s Eve
Hey, do you like celebrities? How about hokey romantic premises? Maybe you have the attention span of a cranky toddler? Then director Garry Marshall has the movie for you!
Set during — you guessed it — New Year’s Eve, the film follows approximately 800 different celebrities as they find love and happiness before midnight. I could try to describe the plot but honestly, there’s a word limit to these previews and too many couples to discuss. Let’s just leave it at this: If you saw Valentine’s Day (also directed by Marshall), it’s like that, but 10 months later.
If you find it insulting that all these actors think their five-minute cameos are worth $10 a ticket at the box office — you already know to make other plans.
Prospects: Bleak • PG-13 • 118 mins.
