Annapolis Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream

“The Annapolis Shakespeare Theater has shaken up the Bard to magical effect,” writes Bay Weekly reviewer Jane Elkin of this transposition of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy to a wintry forest. The whimsical story of romance, mischief and magic follows four young lovers into the woods on a sparkling cold night as they become the unwitting victims in a lover’s quarrel between the king and queen of fairies. When a group of locals rehearsing a play also gets caught up in the madness, the comical snarl of spells seems impossible to sort out.
