Colonial Players presents 'Communicating Doors'

Event Date:  September 22, 2013 - 2:00pm - 4:30pm Colonial Players opens its 65th season with an intriguing comic mystery by Britain’s master of farce, Alan Ayckbourn. The action takes place in the same suite of hotel rooms in 2014, 1994 and 1974. A young woman, a timid professional dominatrix, inadvertently redirects her fate when an old man begs her to be a witness and courier. She must sign and deliver his confession of terrible past deeds - the murders of his first and second wives among them - to his lawyers before he dies. Larger-than-life theater producer Oscar Jaffe finds that the movie star he promoted for Broadway stardom years earlier is on board the same train as he. He tries to lure her away from Hollywood (and her new love interest) to save his floundering career. Other passengers on the train provide comic subplots for a screwball comedy set in the 1930s. AUDITIONS: The 24 Hour Theatre Project

Event Date:  August 23, 2013 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm Colonial Players is putting on a show, start to finish, in 24 hours! We invite you to be a part of the madness, and audition for the fun! All interested parties (18 and over) should report to auditions at the Colonial Players Annex at 6pm on Friday, August 23. The show will not be revealed prior to auditions. Auditions will consist of cold readings from random shows to see how actors create strong characterizations. At 8pm, the show will be cast, and the chaos will begin! If you are not cast in the show, we invite you to stay and join the production team to help with the project.

The 24-Hour Theatre Project
