Welcome Signs: Handmade Tiles & Mosaics

Event Date:  November 2, 2014 - 10:00am - 3:30pm Nov 2 and Nov 23rd Time(s): 10:00 am - 3:00 pm both days Series: Two-class Series Member Cost: $150 Nonmember Cost: $165 Materials Fee: $15 due to instructor at class Instructor: Parran Collery In this two-part workshop, use simple tile-making methods to create your own colorful tiles, and then use them to assemble a mosaic style welcome sign for your home. Work with wet clay to fashion parts for your sign, then learn techniques for assembling and grouting the tiles to form an outdoor-ready sign. Birdapalooza: Bird Forms in Terracotta

Decorate your work with colorful glazes and use your dishwasher and oven-safe creations all winter long. Wheel-Thrown Ceramics & Raku

No experience necessary. Experienced students can expect to focus on specific forms and refine their techniques. Up to 25 lbs of stoneware clay included. All pieces will be raku-fired during the last session.
