Hayride & Campfire Adventure on the Potomac

Oyster Festival

Event Date:  October 16, 2016 - 12:30pm - 5:00pm Come to the Captain Avery Museum on the waterfront in Shady Side for an autumn afternoon of fun, food, and live music. Local restaurants will be serving up their oyster best--from raw to shooters to po' boys to sushi--plus lots of other fine food and drink. Mayo Beach Park Public Open Day

USNA Band's Annual "Holiday by the Bay" Concert

Event Date:  December 16, 2015 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm Join the Naval Academy Band for a favorite Annapolis tradition: Holiday by the Bay. The concert will take place on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Naval Academy at the Main Chapel. The United States Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest,” has been providing music for the Brigade of Midshipmen and surrounding community since 1852. Located at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, this premier military band offers world-class ensembles which perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.

Come jump in the water at Mayo Beach Park for Public Open Swimmable Action Day on Sunday, August 16 2015 from 11 am to 6 pm. This Public Open Day is held in cooperation with the South River Federation, which works hard to make the South River fun AND healthy for swimming.

Bring your children and grandchildren and enjoy this rustic park with them. Your feet might get muddy - it IS March in Maryland - so wear walking shores. See you there. This rustic county park on the South River has 170 acres of woods and meadow, a 300 yard sandy beach, two tidal ponds and hiking trails. The park will be open from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday 3/22/15. Walk through the park on your own or join a guided walk at 10:30 am or 12:30 pm. This event is free.
