Mayo Beach Fun Day

Anne Arundel County Fair

Celebrate the county fair’s 61st year with a weekend of music, food, fun, rides and much more. Every day is different. Wednesday includes a jousting tournament, fair queen contest and pig races. Thursday starts the Arundel Idol contest, horse pulling show, tractor parade and a genius contest. Friday Chris Higbee performs and plenty of contests and races fill the day. Saturday features cutest-kid, pie-eating and hog-calling contests and performances by Arundel Idol finalists. Sunday brings more contests, demonstrations and music by Chesapeake Steel Drum Band.

Southern Maryland Blues Festival

Pirate Weekend at Renaissance Festival

Tour the Tudor village in courtier clothes (available to rent) or garb of your choice to peruse over 140 crafters at work making stoneware, blown glass, jewelry, armor and more. Feast on mutton, steak and ale and cheesecake on a stick from their majesties’ kitchens. Watch strolling jugglers, duelers and madrigals, and favor a knight at the daily joust. Play Renaissance-themed games. Arts Alive at Maryland Hall

At the 53rd Annual Skipjack Race and Festival, skipjack races and fresh cooked clams, fish and crab dishes fill Labor Day Weekend.
