Senior Weekend at Renaissance Festival

Tour the Tudor village in courtier clothes (available to rent) or garb of your choice to peruse over 140 crafters at work making stoneware, glass, jewelry, armor and more. Feast on mutton, steak and ale and cheesecake on a stick from their majesties’ kitchens. Watch strolling jugglers, duelers and madrigals, and favor a knight at the daily joust. Play Renaissance-themed games. This weekend, get an extra day of historical fun as the festival extends thru Labor Day. Monday, all seniors ages 62 and older enter free. 10am-7pm at 1821 Crownsville Rd.

Hard Crab Derby

Enjoy summer’s last long weekend at the 65th Annual Hard Crab Derby. Friday, watch contestants claw their way to the top in a crab-cooking contest before entering the grounds. Later, enjoy fresh seafood, carnival rides, games and crafts. Friday evening, local contestants warm up for their turn in the spotlight at a Crisfield Idol Crab Bowl Contest (7pm).

Homestead Gardens Crapemyrtle Festival

Learn how to take care of crape myrtles, hear the Annapolis Blue Grass, get close up with raptors, spend your myrtle money (points earned with every purchase you make at Homestead Gardens before the festival), learn about native gardening and more at Homestead’s Crape Myrtle Festival.
