Worth the Trip to Artscape • free

America’s largest free arts festival, the 32-year-old Baltimore Artscape, attracts over 350,000 art lovers to see local art, theater, opera, fashion, film and American music. Performers step on multiple stages to offer music from pop to opera to local bands. Explore the festival’s DIY craft exhibitors. Families find hands-on projects and workshops teaching basic art techniques at the Target Make It center. Gamers delight at Gamescape, an exhibit of the creativity behind videogame design.

Worth the Trip Seafood Festival

The main business at Tilghman Island’s annual Seafood Festival is eating. Events include trot-line baiting contests, hard-crab races, a crab-picking contest and the crowning of Little Miss Tilghman and Miss Tilghman (3pm) and a Firemen’s parade (5pm). Bird Dog and the Road Kings play and vendors sell. Sponsored by Tilghman Volunteer Fire Company. 11am-7pm at Kronsberg Park, Tilghman Island.

Dragon Boat Festival

Eastport A-Rockin’

Twenty-six local bands rock out on three stages while you explore displays by artisans, crafters, charities and non-profits at this music festival and craft fair. Bands in the Sand

Music lovers go barefoot to dance to live music at the Annapolis signature beach party, Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s eighth annual Bands in the Sand fundraiser combining live, local music and all-you-can-eat grilled fare prepared by Boatyard Bar & Grill.
