Smithsonian Evening Science Lecture - "Stories of our Ancestors"

Event Date:  June 16, 2015 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm Title: "Stories of our ancestors: A 3,000-year history of SERC land" Speaker: Kristen Minogue, SERC science writer Summary: The story of SERC is the story of Maryland. Over the centuries the campus has been home to fishers and hunter-gatherers, Revolutionary War soldiers and slave families. Who were the land’s early inhabitants, and what environmental footprints did they leave behind? This talk will explore the lives of the people who shaped the land that became SERC: Native Americans, settlers, slaves, farmers and, finally, scientists.
