US Naval Academy Band

Event Date:  October 10, 2013 - 7:30pm The Naval Academy Band will be performing at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts on October 10 at 7:30 p.m. The Concert Band is comprised of some of the nation’s finest musicians. Led by Lieutenant Commander Bruce McDonald, the ensemble performs a year-round public concert series featuring varied programs of marches, orchestral transcriptions, patriotic music, and classic wind band repertoire. Larger-than-life theater producer Oscar Jaffe finds that the movie star he promoted for Broadway stardom years earlier is on board the same train as he. He tries to lure her away from Hollywood (and her new love interest) to save his floundering career. Other passengers on the train provide comic subplots for a screwball comedy set in the 1930s.
