Sweet Sue’s Bake Shop & Coffee Bar
Sue Dzurec’s love for entertaining and baking was the inspiration behind the establishment of Sweet Sue’s over 22 years ago. Originally, Sweet Sue’s was a catering and custom cake-decorating business in Sue’s home town of Cheverly. In 1991, her expertise led to a position with the U.S. Naval Academy’s Officer’s Club, where she was chosen to design specialty desserts for the main dining room.
In 1995 the family moved to Calvert County, where Sue’s business continued to flourish. With the help of her husband Gary and daughter Lauren, a graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University, Sue decided to expand. Thus the birth of Sweet Sue’s Bake Shop and Coffee Bar in North Beach in 2005.
In addition to custom-designed cakes, Sweet Sue’s offers quiche, cookies, pies, brownies, muffins, gourmet coffees, sandwiches, wraps, homemade soups and many other tempting delights. Her wedding cakes have received the highest ratings from brides on The Knot and Weddingwire, winning top awards from both sites. Sweet Sue’s has earned a reputation for quality, elegance and professionalism, and most importantly, customer satisfaction. Accordingly, Sweet Sue’s wins Bay Weekly’s Best of the Bay award for Best Bakery year after year.
