St. Margaret’s Church Joust
See Maryland’s state sport at a day-long festival. Novice knights — children and beginning riders — take a lesson in lancing skills (11am). At noon, expert jousters parade on their noble steeds before entering the ring for the main competition. Commoners can buy a title by rsvping to the jousting committee. Your new lord or lady title will be added to the program and will earn you special treatment ($15; rsvp: firstname.lastname@example.org). As always, serfs can buy lunch, sit for face painting and enjoy a fair day with a pony ride. 10:30am-4pm; joust: noon at St. Margaret’s Church Grounds, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd., Annapolis; $10/car, $6/person: 410-974-0200; www.smjoust.org.
