St. Mary’s Woodland Indian Discoveries

Learn the meaning of living off the land as 17th century Yaocomaco Indians did as you help cure a hide, use shells, fire and muscle to transform a tree into a canoe, try flint knapping, play corn cob darts, make a fan of feathers, use friction to start a fire, take a native plant walk and make a miniature pot out of clay. 10am-4pm at St. Mary’s Visitor Center. $10 w/age discounts: 800-762-1634; www.stmaryscity.org.
