Changing Anne Arundel’s Image

Steve Schuh moved into the executive’s office in December of 2014, determined to change the image of Anne Arundel County. Now he’s done it.
He’s redesigned the official Anne Arundel County seal. The problem, said Schuh, was that over the years, the design approved in the County Code has evolved into multiple versions.
With historically accurate elements and a high-resolution vector image that facilitates clear and vibrant reproduction, the new seal gives the county a consistent official image.
“It provides a professional image depicting Anne Arundel County as the best place to live, work and start a business in Maryland,” the county executive said.
The Maryland Archives helped with the redesign, researching Lord Baltimore Charles Calvert’s heraldry. New to the seal are a felt top to the coronet, a tassel on top of the coronet and a felt ermine.
The total effect is clearly a nice improvement.
