Marvel\, which capsized in the Chesapeake Bay\, battered by Hurricane Connie in 1955. What followed after is just as compelling. Smith constructs her story from the eye-witness accounts of survivors and rescuers\, a miraculously recovered diary\, newspaper coverage and trial records.
