SUMMARY:Mud to Music: Clay Flute-making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Musical instruments have helped us to communicate and express ourselves since the dawn of human culture. Learning to build and play our own musical instruments slows us down\, connects us to our bodies and to our self-expression\, and helps us to connect with a sense of wonder\, curiosity and play. In this 4 session workshop we will get an introduction to musical instruments that have been made across Central and South America for thousands of years and learn to build our own clay flutes using ancient pottery-making techniques. At the end of the course we will learn to explore and play our own unique instruments. All are welcome\, and no previous experience with clay\, instruments or music is necessary. Everyone can enjoy turning mud into music! \nSaturdays 9:30am – 12:30pm Feb 18\, 25 & Mar 4\, 18

SUMMARY:Read Across America Storytime
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate ‘Read Across America Day’ at the Museum of Historic Annapolis! Local author Priscilla Cummings will read aloud her book\, ‘Chesapeake Rainbow\,’ at a special Storytime presentation. After storytime\, explore the Museum on a special rainbow scavenger hunt! \n‘Chesapeake Rainbow’ helps youngsters learn their colors. Blue is the color of the water in the Bay\, and blue is the color of a perfect day. The heron that we call Great Blue is blue. The stripe down a crab’s leg? It’s blue\, too. Blue is the color of the Chesapeake Bay. Let’s think of another that we see every day. The book is a bright and wonderful companion book to the popular Chesapeake ABC and Chesapeake 1-2-3. \nBring along your personal copy of ‘Chesapeake Rainbow’ for Ms. Cummings to sign! A limited number of books will be available for purchase (cash or check only). \nRegistration required for this special program; space is limited. Program registration includes admission to the Museum.

SUMMARY:The Book of Will
DESCRIPTION:Without William Shakespeare\, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without actors Henry Condell and John Heminges\, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! So\, the King’s Men are getting the band back together. The goal: to gather the Bard’s scattered masterpieces and bind them to each other\, and to history. It’s a grand feat\, to be sure. Especially for a community of actors who may know all the ins and outs of iambic pentameter\, but next to nothing about binding books. Even so\, they undertake their mission with pluck and wit and hearts full of joy. It’s a theatrical\, beat-the-clock race to save a legacy\, offering some of Shakespeare’s greatest hits spoken by your favorite players. \nLive stream will be available from 3/10-3/19.\nNo matinee performance on 3/5 due to the St Patrick’s Day Parade.
