SUMMARY:Restoring the Chesapeake Bay: The Good\, the Bad\, & the Ugly
DESCRIPTION:The League of Women Voters Anne Arundel County present Gerald Winegrad at the Busch Annapolis Library Sunday\, April 23 at 2 pm. Former Maryland Senator Winegrad has devoted himself to environmental causes for 53 years. His presentation will examine the results of 39 years of personal involvement in formal efforts to restore the Chesapeake Bay. \nBay restoration is based on limiting nutrients and sediment that are causing dead zones and living resources to decline. Winegrad will pull no punches in revealing the inconvenient truths on the issues. Learn from this expert insider about the successes and failures toward these goals and how we as individuals can take action to ensure a healthier Bay. This is an event you won’t want to miss. \nMr. Winegrad is a lifelong Marylander\, environmental attorney\, former state senator\, member of the Chesapeake Bay Commission\, and a graduate school professor—teaching a course he wrote on Bay restoration. \n

SUMMARY:Putting It Together
DESCRIPTION:Putting It Together – A Sondheim Revue\nDrawing its title from a song in Sunday in the Park with George\, this musical revue celebrates Sondheim’s incomparable career in musical theater. Featuring nearly thirty Sondheim tunes\, Putting It Together is set at an all-night\, black-tie party in a penthouse\, the hosts\, an older couple face their disillusions and marital troubles; a younger\, less jaundiced couple struggle with their feelings and desires\, and a commentator oversees and influences the action. The spouses deal with infidelity and divorce but finally reconcile before dawn. With a bit of imagination\, the guests transform the apartment into the stage of an abandoned theater\, an estate in Sweden\, an island outside of Paris\, a street off the Forum\, the woods of a fairy tale and a mythical town in the Southwest. \nNote: All single tickets are subject to a $2 service fee per ticket.

SUMMARY:Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
DESCRIPTION:AACC Theatre returns with “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” opening April 14 at the Robert E. Kauffman Theater\, Pascal Center for the Performing Arts. “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French\, Inc. This compelling tragicomedy first burst upon the theatre scene in 1966 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The play follows the misadventures of two minor characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet\, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Childhood friends of Prince Hamlet\, they are brought to the royal court to find out whether Hamlet is truly mad or not. \nThis post-pandemic production about frustrated waiting\, feeling like a supporting character in someone else’s story\, chance vs. fate\, inescapability\, and general confusion is very timely in its message. With slapstick to sitcom to subtle word games peppered throughout an absurd and thought-provoking romp\, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” explores what our existence\, desires\, and actions say about ourselves. \nDirected by Madeline Austin\, the cast of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead includes Erik Binnix\, Jackson Bondurant\, Ryan Brown\, Dean Cottrill\, Jackson Darrow\, Gabe Duque\, Josh F.\, Nathan Garcia\, Eliza Geib\, Mycheal Lewis\, Shannon McElwee\, Jana Naylor\, Abigail Pimpo\, Alice Resare\, Zachary Sexton\, Neal Spence\, Daniel Wade\, Cameron Walker\, and Robin Whewell. Design team for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead includes Sean Urbantke (Set and Lighting Designer)\, Maggie Urban (Stage Manager/Fight Choreographer)\, Michelle Hickman (Costume Designer)\, Steph Condon (Sound Designer)\, Mandolin Roberts (Props Artisan) and Katie Laubert (Assistant Stage Manager). \nTICKET INFORMATION: “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” runs April 14-April 23 at the Robert E.
