DESCRIPTION:Join us at Wylder Tilghman Island for a weekend of 4th of July celebration! Offering the best assortment of on-site activities from Friday\, June 30\, to Tuesday\, July 4\, you can participate in kids crafts\, indulge in a cocktail-making class with Wylder’s in-house bartenders\, let your creativity flow by painting a terracotta pot and planting mint or basil seeds\, enjoy daily live music\, and kick back and relax on nightly sunset cruises from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. On Saturday\, July 1\, and Sunday\, July 2\, you can also participate in “Catch a Crab” classes from 3 – 4 p.m.\, learn all about the Maryland Blue Crab from a local Captain\, catch their own\, and cook it. Additionally\, enjoy complimentary s’mores at the main fire pit on Saturday\, July 1 – Tuesday\, July 4\, at 7 p.m. The celebration continues with popsicles at the pool\, glow sticks\, and Tilghman Island fireworks.  \nRefuel after a swim in the pool or a day of kayaking at Tickler’s Crab Shack with a Traeger Pulled Pork Sandwich or the Local Steamed Blue Crab\, and sip on some classic summer cocktails\, including Tickler’s Famous Margarita and the Tilghman Tea.

DESCRIPTION:This traditional small town Independence Day Parade has become a local South County favorite event for the 4th of July.\nThe parade starts promptly at 10:00am and lasts about an hour. Shady Side Road closes 10 minutes before the parade starts so make sure you are in place to watch or participate in the parade starting at Cedarhurst Road and ending at the Shady Side Community Center on Snug Harbor Road. Sign up is free at the staging areas the day of the parade. Staging areas are: Decorated bicycles and walkers sign up at the entrance to the Soft Serve; Floats sign up at the Corner Grill and line up along Cedarhurst Road; Motorized vehicles sign up at the Post Office and line up down West River Road.\nThis is a free community event sponsored by the Shady Side Community Center with the grateful help of many community volunteers.
