SUMMARY:DUOVAU\, Brazilian Veredas\, Live performance
DESCRIPTION:World Artists Experiences (WAE)\, in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil\, presents a live performance of DUOVAU.\nDUOVAU is a duo of Brazilian musicians\, Levi Ramiro and Esdras Rodrigues\, who come from different musical traditions and together present a canvas portraying the rich musical landscape of Brazil. The repertory in this project takes the listeners through evocative Brazilian musical genres\, exploiting their rich expressive and rhythmic content\, and establishing a straight connection with geographical\, social\, and cultural aspects of Brazil. Watch their video at https://youtu.be/BnSUJf-gmJQ.\nLEVI RAMIRO is a violeiro (viola brasileira player)\, singer\, composer\, and luthier. The viola brasileira is a ten-string (5 courses in pairs) guitar made out of gourds. Levi has his roots in folk music from Brazil; he has won important music national prizes and recorded and performed throughout Brazil\, sharing his music with many artists. He is actively engaged as an educator\, with a published songbook of his music\, and by ministering workshops on performance and construction of the viola brasileira. ESDRAS RODRIGUES is a rabequeiro [rabeca brasileira (a Brazilian fiddle) player] and a career violinist (University of Campinas and Boston University) with vast experience with orchestras\, chamber music and teaching (University of Campinas). Esdras has toured in the USA\, Germany\, Australia\, Greece\, Mexico\, Singapore\, and Vietnam. \nAdditional performances are scheduled in Easton\, April 26\, Salisbury University on April 27\, and in Frostburg on April 30th. \nWorld Artists Experiences is a non-profit organization that fosters transnational and cross-cultural understanding by bridging people and cultures across continents and through shared artistic experiences. Donations are appreciated. \nWAE recommends wearing a mask and social distancing\, regardless of vaccination status.

Conocer los instrumentos ancestrales de las Américas\, y aprender a construir y tocar nuestros propios instrumentos nos ayuda a despertar la memoria de nuestra conexión con la naturaleza\, cultivar la presencia con las manos en el barro\, y experimentar alegría a través del sonido y la música. \nEn este taller conoceremos instrumentos musicales que se han hecho a lo largo de Centroamérica y América del Sur desde hace miles de años y aprenderemos a construir nuestras propias flautas de arcilla. El taller culminará en un encuentro musical el 8 de diciembre de 6-8pm\, donde reflexionaremos sobre nuestros aprendizajes\, exploraremos la paleta sonora de nuestros instrumentos\, y aprenderemos a expresarnos con nuestras flautas. \nTodos son bienvenidos y no se requiere experiencia con arcilla ni con instrumentos o música. Tranzfusion\, a classic rock band from Salisbury\, Maryland\, will rock the Harbor on this 2.5-hour cruise.\nTranzfusion is a live classic rock band from Salisbury\, Maryland. They are well into their third decade of performing\, mainly on the Delmarva Penninsula and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. They are a summer favorite at beach bars in Ocean City\, Maryland\, and are best known for their tight\, spirited renditions of classics by Santana\, Neil Young\, the Rolling Stones\, the Doors\, Dire Straits\, the Beatles\, the Who\, Tom Petty\, and others. The band members are drummer Bobby Malaby\, bassist Al Cook\, guitarist Hank Koenig\, keyboardist Bob Davis\, and sound tech Paul Brunkhorst. All four band members contribute to vocals. \n​Harbor Queen has a full bar on board with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.
