SUMMARY:350th Anniversary Festival at Christ Church Port Republic
DESCRIPTION:Engage the family with numerous fun-filled activities. There will be planned events\, including a Comedy/Magic Show\, period dances\, meet Mistress Margaret Brent—First Suffragette\, Cemetery Tour\, and a Jousting Exhibition. There will be balloon artists\, arts and crafts\, pony rides\, a petting zoo\, face painting\,  and games for all ages. Visit Historic Christ Church\, a Biblical Garden\, History of Christ Church Exhibit\, and the One Room Schoolhouse. Check out antique and old farm equipment. Listen to music by the Port Tobacco Pickers. All activities free\, except for charges by Food and Artisan Vendors. There will be plenty of parking available. Bowiefest brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations\, entertainers\, and businesses together in one place at Allen Pond Park. Around the pond\, you can sample food from area vendors including pulled pork\, pit beef\, corn dogs\, cotton candy\, funnel cakes\, Italian sausage\, frozen fruit drinks\, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. There is always an arts and crafts area\, sponsored by the Soroptimist International – Prince George’s & Anne Arundel Counties and a Business section sponsored by the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce. Entertainment is offered on three stages.
