Make Your Voice Count

Seeking to be more engaged in your community and to help shape your county’s future? You can do both by serving on Anne Arundel County’s Plan2040 Citizens Advisory Committee.

The committee is now accepting applications from county residents who want to commit to helping shape the next draft of Anne Arundel’s General Development Plan. The committee meets twice a month in Annapolis.

“This committee will help us shape the future of Anne Arundel County, and it needs diverse representation from communities across the county,” said County Executive Steuart Pittman.

Plan2040 works to update the comprehensive plan that guides land use in the county, capitalize on its assets and conserve critical resources.

The Office of Planning and Zoning is charged with revising the plan. Prepared to state guidelines, the finished plan is adopted by the County Council to establish policies and recommendations to guide land use decisions over 20 years.

The Citizens Advisory Committee was established under Pittman’s predecessor, Steve Schuh. Existing members of the committee will be considered along with new applicants and do not need to resubmit their applications.
