Not Just for Kids

The How-To Cowboy™
Brings You Another Secret, Magic How-To Fun Trick.
This Week: How To Make Sour Sweet

Grapefruit

Cut a grapefruit in half. Your mouth is watering already, isn’t it?

Sprinkle on salt. Not sugar!

Taste. Sweet, isn’t it?

Salty things on sour things make them double sweet.

Lemon Pie

Here’s another: works best at holiday family meals or banquets.

Lemon pie. Tart, right? Lemon Meringue pie? Just as sour.

Pour gravy on the lemon pie. Beef or pork gravy, it doesn’t matter.

Ummm! The pie’s not tangy anymore, sort of marshmallowy.

Onion

Ever bite into a ripe onion? Stingy, sharp and sour, right?

Cut that eye-watering onion taste with lard! Make an onion-lard sandwich, and pretend you’re a depression-era, rail-riding hobo. Try butter, too.

Spread lard on two slices of thick bread. Pile on the onion slices. Take a bite.

Sweet. Heavenly. Ahhhh!

Dill Pickle

Find a big, juicy dill pickle.

Dip it in soft vanilla ice cream. Swirl it around. Now bite.

Not sour anymore is it? It’s doubly sweet! What does it taste like?

Life is just a bowl of cherries. Don’t get delirious, it’s not mysterious.
