What We Won; Update

Dear Bay Weekly:

Several issues back [Vol. xiv, No. 52: Dec. 28, 2006] listed your entries in a reporting/editorial competition. I haven’t seen anything announcing the results. That could be because I only view you online and may have missed the announcement. How’d your people do?

—Frank McGowan, The Village, Florida

Editor’s reply: We have five editorial and three advertising winners. But category and place are not revealed until the awards ceremonies April 26 and 27. So we’ll break the news in the paper of May 3. Thanks for making sure we keep our promises.

Florida Schoolgirl Seeks Maryland Postcards

Dear Bay Weekly:

I am a fifth grade student at Coronado Beach Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I have adopted your state as a class project. Please send me one postcard from your state. Please do not send me anything but a postcard. We are unable to accept letters or packages due to safety precautions. I am writing in hopes of getting a postcard from as many different people as possible. It would be great if some will take the time to write a short note on the postcard telling me something interesting or special about your state.

I hope your readers can help me with my project. My classmates are also doing this project. Each of us has chosen a different state. I would like to become an expert on your state. Please accept my thanks in advance for your help.

Two facts about The Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage were misstated in Bay Weekly’s April 12 article, Tracking 2007 Home and Garden Tours.

First, dinner is served at St. James Church to eat in or carry out from 2 to 6pm. The times were misprinted in an editing error.

Second, tickets and tour books are available at all nine sites on the tour, not just at London Town. Misinformation was provided by the sponsoring organization.
