By any standard, Bill packed more than 82 and a half years of living into the 82 and a half years of his existence. He acquired friends by the score, admirers by the thousands, readers by who knows what order of magnitude. His presence was enormous; his loss equally large. He takes with him a knowledge and love of Maryland’s outdoors and outdoorsmen that we cannot replace. Nor should we try.
Bill Burton’s last words: Do it. Do it. Do it.
