Double Feature to Help Twin Beach Players Find a Home
Twin Beach Players have staged Theater at the Beaches since 1997, when the traveling nomads in search of a home debuted with A Christmas Carol.
In 14 years, they’ve brightened life at the Beaches. All with never a home of their own. And at prices lower than you’d pay to see a movie.
This Valentine’s season, the Players want to exchange Valentines with you. Their Valentine to you: Love Letters and a Southern Maryland dinner. In turn, the Players hope you’ll send your love wrapped in $45 before joining the fun Sunday, Feb. 12 at Rod N Reel.
Proceeds of the Valentine fundraiser support the creation of a Twin Beach Players Fine Arts Center.
About the show, Pulitzer Prize winning A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters, says Twin Beach Players director Tom Wines: “Anyone who is human or has ever been in love finds themselves reflected in these characters.”
Love Letters is a popular play this time of year. In Annapolis, Bay Theatre Company is in the second of its six week run. Down the road in Rose Haven, yet another Love Letters plays over dinner at Honey’s Harvest on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Unique to Twin Beach Players are local celebrities Doug Hill and Lisa Baden, playing a couple speaking through letters from childhood through their mid 50s. Hill, of Huntingtown, is chief meteorologist for ABC 7 News/WJLA-TV in Washington. Baden, of Rose Haven, is traffic reporter at WNEW, the new CBS radio station in Washington.
For $45 ($80 a couple), you’ll see Hill and Baden’s co-starring premier, dine with the Players and friends on a Southern Maryland buffet of fried chicken and baked ham buffet and bid at a silent auction: 5-9pm.
