This traditional small town Independence Day Parade has become a local South County favorite event for the 4th of July.
The parade starts promptly at 10:00am and lasts about an hour. Shady Side Road closes 10 minutes before the parade starts so make sure you are in place to watch or participate in the parade starting at Cedarhurst Road and ending at the Shady Side Community Center on Snug Harbor Road. Sign up is free at the staging areas the day of the parade. Staging areas are: Decorated bicycles and walkers sign up at the entrance to the Soft Serve; Floats sign up at the Corner Grill and line up along Cedarhurst Road; Motorized vehicles sign up at the Post Office and line up down West River Road.
