The Alternative Christmas Market is returning to Davidsonville United Methodist Church this year November 13 and 14 from 10 AM-2 PM. Get your holiday shopping done with unique gifts that support women in less developed countries. Sponsored by The United Methodist Women, The Alternative Christmas Market has items from Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade organization. The organization buys the items at a fair price, then markets them in the United States. Come check out the amazing range of items including toys, scarves, placemats, jewelry, various baskets, scented soaps, stationery sets, and different olive wood items in time for the holiday season.
 
Buying goods from a Ten Thousand Villages pop up shop directly helps people with little access to other ways to earn income. Ten Thousand Villages will also donate a percentage of the proceeds to the UMW for hosting the event – these funds will be donated to the YWCA Arden House, a local shelter for battered women.
