Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance proudly presents the Empty Bottle String Band, in concert on Friday, March 24th at Christ Church Parish Hall, 37497 Zack Fowler Rd, Chaptico, MD 20621. Doors open at 7:00 pm, and music starts at 7:30 pm. The Empty Bottle String Band is one of the finest string bands on the East coast. Hailing from Eastern Tennessee, the band specializes in playing toe-tapping, highly danceable traditional Appalachian music. They are known for their upbeat tunes and feel-good music. Their impressive stage presence is coupled with a delightfully self-effacing strength and confidence in their music. Their sound is inventive, while still staying close to the old time string band tradition of the 1930’s. They have become a festival favorite wherever they go and are one of the Appalachian region’s most popular old-time groups.
