John Haywood is coming to town!

Hailing from South Baltimore, he’s is a touch of old school. His pairing of outlaw country and folk blues, and the lyricism of a born writer, have earned him a following among fans of Jason Isbell, Colter Wall, Brent Cobb and the like. With less than a year under his belt in Music City, he’s already making a name for himself as a versatile songwriter with a voice that cuts through the crowd. Check out his latest video “Saint”.

Joining John are two other rising stars on the official BMI lineup for the upcoming songwriter festival and are established songwriters in the Nashville circuit, Chris Shupe & Rich Lafleur.

Chris Shupe is a Tennessee-born country music singer-songwriter. In late 2021 he wrote and recorded his debut single, “California Sky,” on Music Row with Grammy Award-winning studio musicians. He also released his second single, “Where I Call Home,” in June 2022. Chris is now spending most of his time in Nashville, singing, and songwriting. He has played at the Key West Songwriting Festival and CMA Fest 2022 and regularly participates in songwriters rounds around Nashville, leading to several major co-writes. Rich Lafleur, a Marylander by birth, was Influenced by the sonic energy of the post grunge era and contemporary country music. Rich delivers an upbeat approach to blue collar story telling. After being exposed to 70s-80s era heavy metal and classic country by his dad from an early age, which inevitably made him fall in love with music, he began his musical journey. It wasn’t until he started diving into contemporary country radio that he realized “These guys are singing about the stuff we do every day. This is what I want to talk about.” From that moment Rich has honed his craft in songwriting and storytelling.
