Grants for Gardeners
Calvert Garden Club awards mini-grants of $100 to $1,000 to local non-profits to Beautify Calvert County.
Last year, when the grant theme was educating a new generation, a $750 grant to Mt. Harmony Elementary School funded a vegetable garden and wildflower bed.

In Anne Arundel County, Unity Gardens will give up to $1,500 to greening projects, environmental enhancement and education.
Need a model or inspiration? Unity Garden grants helped the Hawkins Cove Restoration Project. An impaired waterway, Hawkins Cove could no longer support wildlife or recreation. The project engaged two public housing communities in understanding the effects of polluted runoff and in reducing stormwater pollution. Volunteers from many organizations and housing communities planted trees and native plants, installed five rain barrels and trained young people about how trees and native plants protect the environment.
