Join the Parade

Snoopy and Charlie Brown, rainbows and candy canes, Christmas trees and an angel with a big trumpet: Over 35 years, Pete Chambliss’ boats have morphed into all those forms in the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade.

Crowds of thousands cheer as the illuminated powerboats and sailboats cruise in two slow loops below and above the Eastport-Annapolis Spa Creek Bridge.

That’s how Chris and Cyndy Rogers joined the parade.

“When we first watched all those boats competing, the attention they received from the crowds of spectators, I knew then, being an attention seeker myself, I had to be a part of this,” says Chris, a retired submariner.

     Want to join the parade?

Then it’s time to begin designing your boat to shine in Eastport Yacht Club’s 2017 Lights Parade, advises Club publicity chair Sandra Rosswork.

Put your imagination in gear (or catch the wind in its sails) at the Club’s decorating seminar October 25 (7pm at the Eastport Yacht Club), with parade organizers providing tips and ideas for boat decoration.

This year’s parade takes to the water Saturday, December 9, 6-8pm,

All boaters and boating clubs welcome. Imaginative designs rewarded with prizes; all entrants treated to brunch and an appreciation party.
