Last Chance to Visit Main Street Gallery

Dear Bay Weekly:
I’m closing Main Street Gallery before long and want to thank you for the amazingly generous and steadfast support you have showered upon us. It has been 20 years of fun and adventure, but now I want my house back!
We’ll be doing smaller, more intimate affairs now and then; high on the list will be open-studio play dates featuring Parran Collery’s tiles (and sangria).
Being voted Best Art Gallery in the Bay Weekly’s Best of the Bay 2010 was a stellar event. I always said I wanted to close with my colors flying. This seems a good time to do just that.
My plan is to include a celebration of Main Street’s 20-year run when we present our last official gallery event on June 25 (a jewelry trunk show by Sue Stockman). Soon after that the closed sign will go out and stay out.
The decision to close was considered long and hard. Many moons ago, I read an article in Bay Weekly that focused on the question What is enough? Twenty years feels like enough.
    Again, many thanks,

–Nancy Collery, Prince Frederick
