Motown Under Moonlight
A Motown tribute grooves its way into Chesapeake Country on September 8. The Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum will host a soulful homage to Motown legends like Gladys Knight & The Pips, Martha and the Vandellas, Marvin Gaye, Smokey and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations.
Singing the Motown classics are The Masters of Soul. The 10-person cast shares a soulful stroll down memory lane with costumes, choreography and lots of heart. Three men and three women singers and a four-piece band make up the Virginia Beach-based group.
The concert benefits the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum Education Station, a new flexible learning space to be used for new programs and further education in public and school programs like Discovering Archaeology, Summer Camps and Scout Programs.
You listen as Motown Under Moonlight sings and plays under a large tent in the park. Food, wine and beer are sold throughout the tribute.
