AA Planners Thank Citizens

Dear New Bay Times~Weekly:

Anne Arundel County's Long Range Planning Staff would like to thank county citizens for coming out in force to tell us what you want for the future of your small area. It was impressive to see the level of interest and participation by citizens of the six Small Planning Areas: BWI/Linthicum, Deale/Shady Side, Jessup/Maryland City, Odenton, Severn and South County.

It was very rewarding to see so many of you turn out to express your views. We hope that everyone who attended will keep in touch and attend the next forum, which is scheduled for January 2000. In addition, please let us and the Small Area Planning Committee Members know of any additional concerns or visions you have for the future of your area.

It is obvious from the level of citizen participation and the degree and quality of input at the forums citizens feel that their particular areas are very special. We are looking forward to the challenges of the next six to eight months developing the new Small Area Plans with the committees. Remember that these new plans will set the direction of how your area will develop during the next 20 years.

If you were unable to attend the forum, we would still like to hear from you and encourage you to write to us at Long Range Planning. PACE, 2664 Riva Rd., P. O. Box 6675, MS 6403, Annapolis, MD 21401. We can also be contacted at 410/222-7432 or e-mailed at [email protected].

We also have a Small Area Plan web page with information on the process and upcoming meetings. You can visit us at www.clark.net/pub/msomers/opening/home.htm.

On-Line Reader Wants Tide Tables

Dear New Bay Times~Weekly:

It would be great if you could also publish the tide tables for the Solomons area here in your on-line edition. I live in Northern Virginia and cannot just pick up a free issue every week. I'm sure many would appreciate it. Short of that, do you know anywhere on-line that has the tables? Thanks.

-Rob Fiveson, [email protected]

Editor's reply: Getting tide tables on-line is a trick our webmaster is still mastering. The full book of tables, however, is easy to get. The 1999 Chesapeake Tidewater Tidelog is sold at many marine centers. Or go direct to Pacific Publishers: 415/868-2909.
