Trees of Distinction

Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky.

–Kahlil Gibran

Know an interesting tree? Annapolis’s Trees of Distinction program recognizes trees that have stood witness to significant changes within the community; their presence often defines a neighborhood. The program also aims to thank the citizens who maintain and care for these noteworthy trees.

Nominate distinctive trees based on four categories: Size and/or age; Unusual growth habit or form; Historical significance; Beauty or aesthetic value.

All nominators receive a certificate, with photos and information about the tree posted on the city’s webpage.

Nominations are open through April 4, 2018. Awards will be announced at the Annapolis Arbor Day celebration next April. Submit nominations to [email protected]. Download the form at bit.ly/2hj5pET.
