Way Downstream …(Feb. 14-20, 2019)

What do you do when you’re out fishing and you catch a World War II grenade? Obviously, you head to Taco Bell.

That’s what a couple did recently along the Ocklawaha River in Ocala, Fla., after bringing up a grenade while “magnet fishing,” whatever that is. (For steelhead?)

Grenade in bucket, they headed to Taco Bell, where they phoned police. It became a big deal.

“Be advised that the Taco Bell on East Silver Springs Blvd. has been evacuated, following report of an explosive device located in a vehicle on premises,” the police reported on Facebook.

Later: “The bomb squad removed the grenade without incident and advised it would be disposed of properly. Taco Bell has reopened.”

        Floridians commented on Facebook:

“Every time I find an explosive, I, too, drive to a heavily populated area for a snack,” Kristi wrote.

Added James: “First thing that came to mind was every time I have Taco Bell, it ends up in an explosive situation.”
