I read the article written by Steve Carr about Mike Bush in the April 11 edition. I want to compliment him on a very nice article.

Re: Southern High School’s School of Rock; Highschoolers shone as highschoolers shining

Thank you for Susan Nolan’s April 18 positive review of our school musical, School of Rock. We received several copies of the paper at school, and the students and I were so delighted to read your kind words.

Thank you for your support of our young performers!

From a Happy Subscriber

Each Monday I am happy to receive Bay Weekly in the mail. This way I know I won’t miss an edition even if it’s a few days after Thursday.

Kathy Knotts has been very faithful in publishing the UMD Extension Master Gardener Library Workshops events in timely fashion. We’re grateful.

Truth be told, I enjoy reading most of the articles and glance at others. One of those is Sporting Life. Not being a fishing family, with the exception of cuisine, I glance at that column and Fish Finder. I couldn’t resist reading about a puppy! I thank Dennis Doyle for his sensitive commentary on having a pup in the house. He is a good role model for any pet owner.

Your article on Recycling in Anne Arundel County is so helpful. We are avid recyclers but need updates occasionally. It can be daunting to keep up with what is recyclable. Our environment is home, and we want it to be healthy. We have to do the work to make it work.

All the Bay Weekly writers have journalistic excellence, which is most welcome. Thank you!

Ruritan Scholars

Each year the Lothian Ruritan Club awards 10 scholarships to high school seniors attending schools in Southern Arundel County and Northern Calvert County. The scholarships are awarded based solely on the student’s community service activities.

We made the scholarship awards to this year’s outstanding, community-oriented students we selected at a dinner on March 25.
